What is a cooling tower? How does it work?

Cooling tower is an equipment which cool down recycle water, using water as coolant.

Cooled water go pass from heat system (ex.: heat exchanger), become hot water and take away the heat, then it go back to cooling tower, contact the air inside cooling tower, and make heat exchanging. The water evaporate. Water vapor mix with air to be wet hot air, and bring out waste heat to atmosphere, that bring out waste heat to atmosphere. In this way, the water which doesn’t evaporate cool down, and can continue to be used as cooled water.

Cooling towers are used in industry processing & refrigerate processing of HVAC. It saves 98% water than using water disposable. So cooling tower is used widly as an economical equipment of recycling cooled water.
